BOGO Deals

My trip to the grocery store yesterday got me thinking (scary I know!) that I should probably clarify a common misunderstanding about BOGOs.
I was in the speedy check out line behind this rather young guy with various facial piercings and a longish pony-tail (not judging, just giving you a visual here) and he had just 1 loaf of bread (I had 4). So I said to him, "Ya know that bread is Buy 1 Get 1 FREE?" He says, "Yeah, I know. But it will get moldy before I can eat it." Me being the helpful person that I am, "Oh, well some people, like my dad, think if you just take one then you only pay half price. Which is true in some states but not here." (awkward silence) "You know you can freeze bread?",  I said in my final attempt to be helpful (it was killing me that a FREE loaf of bread still sat on the shelf!) And then the dumbest thing he could have said comes out of his mouth, "I just like to leave it there so someone who needs it can buy it." and with that he hurried on his way. ....SOMEONE who needs it?!?!? Umm, how about the lady with four loaves of bread standing behind you!!! Think she needs bread!?! ...How about the ducks...Go feed the DUCKS!! They need bread! ...It's FREE!!! Geesh!

*Deep breath in through the nose out through the mouth.*
So, I just thought I'd be helpful and point out that when it is a BOGO deal and you only take one item you are still paying full price. So TAKE your FREE item...IT'S FREE!!! Give it to a neighbor, give it to a friend, an enemy, whoever just take it!  In some states where Publixs do Double coupons they also do half price if you only take one item in a BOGO deal (or so I've heard) but not here in Florida!
